Interesting place, the Bar convent. A historical site with guesthouse just outside the city walls by Micklegate Bar. They have a saint's hand relic too. Short walk from station, convenient for several pubs and restaurants.

Are we sure the manuscript was written by a monk and not by an AI?

It's an illuminated manuscript so you might be able to tell from the artwork  8)

The font might be a give away ;)

Nah - doing fonts is a piece of cake for even the dumbest AI!

Any moment now, we will probably see Jon's response on how he asked his AI to generate its Punic Wars ruleset in Latin.

What would be really neat would be a Punic Wars ruleset in Punic!

Even more of a niche market, I would think.

The potential difficulty with such an eventuality would be that the Romans would act according to the rules laid down in their AI Latin rulebook. This would undoubtedly simulate the outcomes of the ancient world we have lost very much better than any rulebook written and published by a modern today. Sadly, I don't see it in any way diminishing disputes over rules interpretation.

We are treading very near VAR territory here, a clear demonstration of how the act of 'using technology to help' can get it so badly wrong when trying to reinvent what others already have working well.

That might be a fun exercise!
