The latest post on the Great Ming Military blog, http://greatmingmilitary.blogspot.com/2017/10/traditional-chinese-and-byzantine.html, is a particularly interesting one if you're into armour construction.

Very interesting and a useful post. A few more exampkes would have added to the article. The Byzantine saint illustration is an exampke of a particular genre of highly  decorated and classicised illustration and the author could have found more practical exampkes to match against the Chinese 'cataphract' armour.

It broadened my knowledge (and hopefully understanding), and one can see - among other things - that the Chinese cataphract 'corsets' had a practical function.
