Gents,
Attempt at alliteration aside, thought some of you might be interested in reading this text only account of an ancient battle set in a much later time and featuring different armies.

An interesting pair of forces selected to represent the various Romans - Early century French and a confederation of German cities.  Felt a bit sorry for the Germans.  They obviously couldn't get much backing from the aristocracy and were short of men-at-arms - not a good place to be against the flower of French chivalry.

Thanks for taking the time to read and comment.

Perhaps an eventual rematch or even a different ahistorical contest featuring 6th century Persians or Indians? Maybe something set in the 9th century?

Cheers,
Chris

Be interested in seeing a sketch map of your battlefield to see how it compared with my interpretation given we appeared to use the same source.
