The fact that some of the coins had been cut up to produce change could indicate they'd circulated a fair bit since they left the Empire
Or was that a standard procedure within the Empire?

I will leave it to the numismatists to be absolute but I thought it was common practice especially in the later phases of the empire...?

I mean, according to Google 'Pflug hoft' translates as 'plough farm'.  Does this indicate that Aspen Pflughoeft hails from some suitably rural district of Colorado?
