I'm surprised. Their role in the Edward III's coup of 1330, with all it's cloak and dagger action, is perhaps their most exciting moment but lots of more mundane stuff.

If memory serves me right, there is a pub in (or next to, or connected to a brewery in) the caves, which has the following verse inscribed on the wall (or on a table) :

"May them as love us, love us.
And them as don't love us, may God turn their hearts.
And if he don't turn their hearts,
May he turn their ankles so we know them by their limping".
