Yes indeed. And things like is isotope tests on teeth etc which give an idea where the individual was brought up also could tell us an awful lot

I was reading Cerdic (CERDIC: Mysterious Dark Age king who founded) and the author mentions it a number of times pointing out that an entirely  Saxon burial site from early in the period had very few 'Saxons' who weren't born in the area
