I've never come across the word "mutatio" before as a "horse-changing station".

You will note the horse-changing station is a long way from any streams, just in case  :) Another language quirk - a horse-changing station and a baby-changing station seem to function very differently. You often see the latter in modern motorway services but I've never seen the former.
