Duncan Head

What a surprise. That eyebrow-and-nasal piece almost looks like it belongs on a post-Roman helmet.

I was thinking it is quite Chalcidian in style. Though I'm not convinced by the reconstruction. It's crying out for some cheek protection, either rigid or hinged, which could be part of the helmet which was lost.

I was thinking like Duncan so did a quick image search, Apulian-Corinthian helmets also had eyebrows and nasal.
I'm not suggesting copying, I just wonder if it's the sort of thing that occurred to those manufacturing them over the years?
