found this and although simplistic (for the masses), is a neat little summary. Of course if you want a better guide I can recommend:

Fascinating topic and has taken many an hour of my time away looking for sections

It is interesting and can help our understanding of things.  I have two big maps printed by the British Museum way back when, one  of Roman Britain and one of post Roman.  I must see if I can find them.

Hi Stephen, I can still lay my hands on an OS 'Roman' map I bought many moons ago which shows most of the main roads. There are however many many more smaller roads that are either conjectural or not recorded on 'mainstream'/accessible maps

there are other reports like this but I found this one to be particularly useful since its my geographic area and does drill down into quite a lot of detail

It really does come alive if you know the area.

and in fact, it comes alive even more if you find roman roads that havent even been highlighted or are vague in the assumed location (yes I have been doing field walking and similar and have found a couple of roman road sections which have been passed onto GGAT :) )
