Hi Neil, don't know about SoA members living in Dubai, but there is quite a bit of online board wargaming around (VASSAL leagues for Command & Colors: Ancients, etc), so if it's a case of your wanting to play against other people, and you don't mind doing it over a computer using voice chat or something, that might be an avenue to explore.

I lived in a small town in Japan for a long time and that was one way I used to get my gaming fix.

But here's hoping that there is someone in Dubai!
