After a break of two years, Newbury and Reading Wargames Society will be hosting Colours 2022 on Saturday, 10^th September at Newbury Racecourse.  As usual, there will be a packed show with over 60 traders, participation games and a DBA competition, as well as the popular Bring & Buy.

Wargames Association of Reading - Battle of Adrianople 378 (as seen at the Society Battle Day)

This is the 28mm DBMM game that was voted Best Game at the Battleday back in the Spring, returning this time with enough players that we can hopefully get through it!

What Nick appears to have missed out is that the Society of Ancients stand will also be present at Colours.  Please drop by and say hello!
Anyone who wants to help out for an hour or so, please feel free to contact me (Treasurer) or you can turn up on the day.

As an experiment for this show, I would like to set up a register of SoA members who visit the stand.  Just so we have some statistics on how many members come and visit us at a show...

Just to forestall any speculation following the recent passing of Her Majesty, Colours 2022 will go ahead as planned on Saturday.  We shall pay our respects at a suitable point during the show.

Adrianople game was massive and magnificent.

Magnesia game next to the SoA stand had a beautiful set of figures - and was manned by an old friend I had not seen for over 25 years!

Show looked well supported....lots of punters, and good games on show. I went for a tournament, but my games taking max time meant I only got a quick look around until about 4:30, by which time there were some traders in clear up mode, as is to be expected after long distances travelled.
