In a four-player rematch, the Battle of Lake Trasimene was refought one more time (total playings, six).  Again, Hannibal came out the victor but the battle was not a walk-over.

Full battle report at Hit Me One More Time.

With the table cleared of Romans and Carthaginians, Great Italian Wars battles are on deck next.

That the Romans were badly mauled on most occasions tends to suggest a high degree of historical accuracy or was it down to just luck and a no-way-to-win scenario for the Romans?

Good question.  Four of the five games in which the Romans lost were actually quite close until the Roman Army broke.  In the game in which the Romans, won the outcome was in balance until the very end.  Given that Carthage won five out of six contests suggests that the scenario presents the historical result as a valid (and most likely) benchmark.
