The revolt is an action I did not know about but chasing down it looks like the written evidence is sparse and fragmentary, so perhaps no real surprise except that this is so near Rome itself. The article by P. Conole might be interesting but £21 is a steep for the gamble.

Interesting technique, uncovering an ancient city using stores of wine.  I wonder how that works?  Does it refresh the workers or wash away the soil?
