Ah - I thought the headline sounded odd, cheese is not generally a "Chinese" specialty; but of course this is found with one of the Tarim mummies in Xinjiang, so a "Europoid" probably Tocharian-speaking population, not Han Chinese.

Not Han Chinese, to be sure.  Certain cheeses and dishes made with cheese are to be found in the region around Kunming in China's Yunnan Province, but this may be to do with the settlement of Muslim soldiers from the Xinjiang Region in this area by the Mongols, to help secure control of this remote and fractious area.

My daughter have her dog a very hard cheese chew. The casein polymer was so tough it seemed indestructible. I worried the dog was going to break her teeth on it.
