I returned Sunday night from the Second War & Conquest National Tournament themed as the subject says. I borrowed an Early Imperial Roman army as my planned army will not be ready until next year. I fought four battles over the weekend my first against Celts, the second German Barbarians with Celts again on the Sunday morning and Successors Sunday afternoon, there is a full and extensive report with more pictures on my blog. Meanwhile here is a taste of the quality of the armies involved.

Sadly they are not mine, however you cannot come away from looking at these without upping your own game. The picture at the top does not do justice to the armour effect the painter managed, it was as though the legionaries had just burnished it before going into battle.
