a lot of people forget the Romano British element of Bamburgh's history

They do.  Edinburgh, Bamburgh and, I think Durham, all fortified sites on volcanic plugs.  I'd think the last two were part of Bryneich.  Then we have the Urbgen/Urien verses.  I'd say the Lindisfarne name is a clear indicator of where the later Angles came from.

yes there is a paper or two on the Lindensis element especially Dr Green's stuff on the matter

and the countryside had me captivated since it was on an episode of Robin of Sherwood back in the 80's
